Attitude matters...

All of us have come across the word attitude in our life, but what is this attitude? Well, in simple words it can be referred to as what way and how a person reacts to and perceives something.

While it’s true that humans are born with certain tendencies or orientations, our personalities and attitudes are developed through our relationships and experiences. Our attitudes begin to develop in childhood and constantly evolve and change over the years through day-to-day interactions and experiences.

All the things that you have been through, all the people you have met and interacted with have an impact on your attitude. If you think that all these factors have molded you into the person you are right now, then you are wise enough to understand this.

Attitude determines as to how we meet different people and interact with them, the perception that the person will have towards us. Everything a person is, is his attitude. A person is composed of his attitude as a software to the brain.

Attitude word is many times referred to by people as a bad and negative word, which isn’t always right. Attitude can be positive or negative but can’t really be segregated as good or bad. A positive attitude is something when you perceive a task with confidence and a positivity to complete it successfully. It also includes reacting to situations in a calm way. In contrast to the positive attitude, a negative attitude is something when a person shows aggression, hatred and negativity in his talks.

A person with a positive attitude sends positive vibes to all the people around, while people with negative attitude spread negativity. Exactly the reason that it is said ‘A man is known by the company he keeps.’

‘Problem is not the problem, but it’s your attitude towards the problem.’

Each of us encounters hard times, hurt feelings, heartache, and physical and emotional pain. The key is to realize it’s not what happens to you that matters; it’s how you choose to respond. It is believed that the biggest tasks can be achieved if you have self-confidence or a positive attitude towards the task and if you believe you can do it. Nothing is impossible, if someone has the courage to do so.

People perceive you based on your attitude and thus it can be noticed that when you meet with some important people, you do it with very cautious dressing, preparation and even the way you behave and this same attitude changes into a careless one when the situation is reversed.

It can be seen by your attitude how important a person or a task is in your life. When we meet people, there are some with whom we meet and say that he is destined to succeed, this perception is given to us by the attitude they carry. A person is always in the control of his or her own attitude and every individual has an option to change his attitude to what he wants to, because the key lies within you yourself.

We all have a choice. We can choose an inner dialogue of self-encouragement and self-motivation, or we can choose one of self-defeat and self-pity. The loudest and most influential voice you hear is your own inner voice, your self critic. It can work for or against you, depending on the messages you allow. It can be optimistic or pessimistic. It can wear you down or cheer you on. You control the sender and the receiver, but only if you consciously take responsibility for and control over your inner conversation.

As said, attitude is not good or bad, it just depends on where, and on what instance a person may show a positive or negative attitude. True success lies in proper usage of attitude when required and harnessing it to aim for success. To sum up, we can say that Attitude is that small thing that makes a big difference.

"Our attitude towards life determines life's attitude towards us"
